Café Carva home page: Real roots. Rare coffee.

A coffee brand for a family farm in Colombia, and a members club that sells it before anyone else can.

Café Carva sells single-origin coffee from a family farm in Quindío in small drops: one harvest, a limited number of bags, and when they are gone they are gone. Club Carva is free, members get 10% off for life and hear each drop date first. I designed and built all of it: the brand, the bag label, the website, the sign-up, the emails and the system behind them.

Café Carva identity: wordmark, the bean mark and the palette
Loud colour, quiet type: the wordmark, the bean split in two, and six colours.
Café Carva website: how the club works, in four cards
How the club works: four cards that fan out and straighten as you scroll.
Café Carva sign-up: one question per screen
Café Carva welcome screen with a numbered member card
Café Carva website: the questions section
Good to know: the questions a first-time buyer actually has, answered before they have to ask.

The challenge

A new coffee brand has no shelf, no reviews and no regulars. What it does have is a story most brands would invent if they could: third generation, the family's own farm, a single harvest. The work was to turn a small, honest supply into a reason to sign up, make a club worth joining before there is anything to buy, and learn about the first customers without turning the sign-up into a survey.

Scarcity is the product

Instead of hiding that there is only so much coffee, the brand leads with it. Each harvest is a numbered drop, and the club is the way to hear about it first. The first hundred members get a numbered card in the post.

Allá and aquí

The voice is English with Spanish where it carries meaning: "Real roots. Rare coffee." up front, "Hija de cafeteros." where the family story begins, the family and the farm named the way they would be at home.

Sign-up

One question per screen, about two minutes in total. Name and email are the only required answers; the rest, how you make coffee at home, beans or ground, what matters most, is optional, with a skip on every question. At the end comes a member number, a digital member card for the phone's wallet, and a welcome email in the same design.

Behind the site

Built in Next.js with scroll-driven motion, and a reduced-motion version of every animation. A CMS for drops and copy, the brand's own member database, emails through a newsletter tool with unsubscribes honoured automatically, and privacy and cookie notices in plain language.
