About

Lukas Beier is a Berlin-based brand designer and co-founder of Zahlenwerk Studio, working with founders and investment funds. He launches new identities, builds visual systems, and crafts the foundational design that companies need at their earliest, most defining stages.

Since 2026 he co-founds Zahlenwerk Studio, an independent software studio in Berlin building products around data: parsing pipelines, APIs, and interfaces for the numbers everyone else finds tedious. Lukas leads design and go-to-market; his co-founder Laura Nogales De La Cruz leads operations and data modelling.

The work spans identity, motion, web, presentation, typeface, and video. Selected clients include Project A, SPUR Value Partners, Distil Labs, GNIW, Sophie Chung, Trinh Le-Fiedler, Till Hufnagel, Philipp Noll, and Selim Nowicki, a mix of venture capital firms, founders, and growth-stage companies.

Lukas studied Communication Design at Hochschule Düsseldorf (BA, 2015 to 2019) and went on to complete his MBA in Digital Media Management at Hamburg Media School (2021 to 2023). His professional perspective combines design craft with the strategic and operational vocabulary of venture capital and early-stage business.

Earlier work has been publicly recognized. As part of the Hochschule Düsseldorf team, he contributed to the Silver-winning campaign for Vaillant at the 29th GWA Junior Agency Award (2017), in partnership with Saatchi & Saatchi. His poetry film “liedvoll, deutschyzno moja” was selected for the 5th Weimar Poetry Film Award at the International Poetry Film Festival of Thuringia (2020), following an earlier presentation at the Zebra Poetry Film Festival (2018).

The work organizes around a single proposition: I design beginnings. Lukas takes on a small number of brand launches per year and is currently accepting select projects.

Lukas lives and works in Berlin.
